In 1988, I began a creative project inspired by two major influences: the album History of a Time to Come by the band Sabbat, and the book The Paradise War by Stephen Lawhead. My project involved painting, drawing, and pottery. During that time, I worked at Butlins over Christmas and, in my spare time, started drawing Celtic knotwork. I used to draw a lot, primarily focusing on female portraits. I also painted a few murals at the request of friends. My interest in Celtic knotwork developed and filled handmade sketchbooks with my drawings. Over time, I realized that I shouldn't rely on other people's photographs for sketching and decided to use my own instead. I've been photographing people for nearly 20 years.
In 2005 I started photographing people in night clubs in Edinburgh and Glasgow. I worked with people like Club Noir which at the time was the biggest Burlesque club in the uk . There was also a project called the Muses which was where i worked with a group of girls over a few years .
Celtic artwork which i started doing in the late 80's. The latest one on the site taking me a year and a half
The abstract images are from the early 2000's . They are abit of colour for your wall
During lockdown I had a lot of time on my hands like alot of people. I went back and fixed my old sketch books and that got me inspired to research book binding Over the next year or two I created these books. They are very tactile, lovely things to hold . What would make them even better would be you filling them with wonderful things .
Just took me 3 months to build this site Hope you enjoy it . There is art , books to buy and shoots to book .
